Print: I dreamed about a human being
#Selfie_v2
The piece consists of 6 RasperriPis. Five of them are model 3 with a 3.5″ screen and a transparent housing. These
screens are located around the chest, coming out of a “spine”. The transparent case allows you to see the inside of the
mini computers. The chest consists of a model 4 Pi with a 24″ monitor and a webcam. God is in the
bugs: any real biological evolution is the consequence of an error in a DNA copy. Contrary to common understanding, evolution is not based on any intention of the being which is “more adapted to the environment”. It never wanted to be more adapted, there is no will, it just happened. It’s more adapted or has an advantage over others as a consequence of an error during its growth. Some cells make mistakes and it has a more sensitive eye to infrared light. POI Finch: “You are being watched. The government has a secret system: a machine that spies on you every hour of every day. I know, because I built it… “ …maybe the government doesn’t need the machine… you are sharing your intimacy without even knowing and anyone can access it with a 35$ machine. Buy me a life! I’ll use my energy to create art, help other artists, walk my spiritual path and share my knowledge. 2501Ξ is a tribute to “Ghost in the Shell”. Project 2501 was born on the net, he(*) become alive as a pure digital being. The original authors of the code didn’t intend to give him a life but “…life finds a way”. I believe life is not restricted to carbon-based lifeforms. (text by
Carlos Lozano) “Computers are bringing about a situation that’s like the invention of harmony. Subroutines are like chords. No one would think of keeping a chord to himself. You’d give it to anyone who wanted it. You’d welcome alterations of it. Subroutines are altered by a single punch. We’re getting music made by man himself, not just one man.” 2019 Fanzine
20 Pages, A5. Open source subtitle editing for the movie Ghost in the Shell: Innocence. The concept of ‘readymade’ is based on the principles of uncreative writing. While creative writing demands originality,
inspiration, and expression of subjectivity, uncreative writing is based on copying, methodology, and removing the
author. A valid way to create literature is to try to suppress expressivity and use the techniques of reproduction and
plagiarism, taking advantage of the hyperabundance of language generated by the contemporary world. The paradox that
justifies this action is that the suppression of expressivity is impossible. It is therefore demonstrated that the
recontextualization of the writings is a powerful way of generating new meanings and interpretations. (2) In January 2019, a group of digital artists met at
Cultural Center Casa Planas. As a result, we created the first Digital & Electronic Art Festival Mallorca
function(“innocence”, 2019), which became a reality for two days between May 24 and 25. An incredible list of artists exhibited, performed, taught new media art, and showcased interactive artworks. In the context of the digital era, found photography means images found on public websites such as the social networks, e.g. Flickr, Instagram, Google Street View, etc. In these cases, the author of the images meant for them to become accessible (even if only out of legal obligation, as it happens with surveillance footage). As part of my Artificial Intelligence research, I created these contact sheets of the faces that the algorithm detects.
You can read more about my research
here. You can also view the full contact sheets archive on
contacts
or
Flickr. The archive is updated every time the system finds
a sufficient number of new faces. Note that every picture is credited. This is not the appropriation of images from the internet; it’s the re-use of freely distributed
content interpreted by an AI algorithm. How would a robot imagine a human face? “I dreamed about a human being” is like spying into a robot’s brain. “I dreamed about a human being” is part of a project exploring the use of artificial intelligence as applied to photography by using online open source code and data. The project already has a database of 56 million images. We have freely accessible amazing tools and databases of gigantic images, but have not yet fully understood what we can do with them or what it means that they are there. Ubiquography is an exhibition that aims to make people think about the traits that define mobile photography:
ubiquity and immediacy. Participants capture, edit and publish their pictures using their phones and they are instantly displayed in the
exhibition (inreal-time) emphasizing the immediacy aspect. The exhibition will be simultaneously held in different cities around the world, in very diverse and distant locations,
making the exhibition ubiquitous. Rainy Day as flickrGrama. This is a project I’m working on called flickrGramas. This is a very early version, my first attempt. Future improvements include: Higher resolution available
